I stumbled upon these guys while they were playing on the subway platform after I attended a show. In most cases, I usually pass subway performers because they generally aren’t very good. But something made me stop with these guys…perhaps it was their unusual arrangement (trumpet, tuba, snare drum), maybe it was the bull horn the lead singer was using….but I stopped at listened for a good 15 minutes. They were awesome!!! I dropped my business card in their trumpet case and figured I would never hear from them again.
They wound up playing the Mercury Lounge on Saturday night, which I braved the frigid tundra of Grand Street to attend. And they were great!!!
